Last week Sylvie’s home was destroyed in a massive fire that consumed over 400 homes in her area! Fortunately, no one in the community was killed, but Sylvie and her family have only a few tin dishes left to their name.

We did a fundraiser earlier in the summer for Sylvie and her family to move to a safer house and neighborhood. They have been saving up for a home for a long time, and we were able to send 1,035. Now the fire has made raising the rest of the funds very urgent, so we can get the whole family to safe transitional housing and then a permanent home.

A donor has offered to match up to $1,000, and our goal is $5,000. In the midst of losing everything, Sylvie is still sending updates on our students and their test scores. Her heart for the students we work with is amazing. Thank you for helping us get her and her family to safe housing!
